"Reproducibility of diabetes mellitus (DM) diagnosis has been recognized as non-optimal and a few studies have analyzed its reproducibility using new diagnostic criteria. Our aim was to evaluate the reproducibility of WHO 1999 criteria for DM diagnosis in women. A total of 696 Caucasian women with previous gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) underwent an OGTT at a median of 6.2 years (interquartile range, 0.5-7.3) after delivery," scientists in Spain report.
