2004 JUN 3 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Heightened interest in home testing kits have the $4.5 billion home testing kit market poised for explosive growth, according to a recent survey by FIND/SVP, Inc.'s, Advanced Analytics division.
The survey of a nationally representative sample of adults revealed that 78% of respondents are interested in new types of home testing kits that are not currently available in the United States.
The survey also found that 57% of respondents had previously used at least one type of home testing kit in the past, while 71% said they would be interested in using a currently marketed kit in the future.
Results of the survey revealed that the most commonly used kits among respondents included blood pressure (26%), glucose (16%), and pregnancy (25%). However, less than 2% said they used home test kits to detect kidney function, cholesterol level, drug use, and hepatitis or AIDS/HIV.
"The market has great potential for growth if you consider the fact that if only 10% of projected consumers plan to purchase these new kits, then there is the possibility of about 15% growth in sales in a short period of time," stated Morris S.
