2004 JUN 2 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Substituting the bivalent hepatitis A/B vaccine for the hepatitis B in prisons in the United States would be cost-effective.
According to a study from the United States, "Hepatitis B immunization is provided in many U.S. prison systems. We examined the cost effectiveness of substituting bivalent hepatitis A/B vaccine in this setting, considering regional variation in hepatitis A risks and the potential for disease transmission by former prisoners.
