Ultratech has the look and feel of smoking, without health risks. (Ultratech Corp.'s new Light-Free cigarette)

Ultratech Corp. bills itself as a leader in the stop-smoking industry, but its vice president of marketing, David Rosen, said it is really in the business of selling adult pacifiers.

"I used to be a pretty heavy smoker and when I quit, one of the things I missed most was having something to put in my hand," he said.

That's why Ultratech, a 5-year-old company in Dresher, sells the Light-Free cigarette.

"It has the look, feel and taste of a cigarette," Rosen said. "It even weighs the same. The difference is you don't light it."

Instead, the user moistens his lips and inhales on the cigarette. The cigarette, all filter and no tobacco or nicotine, is flavored with a combination of sugar and cocoa -- the same flavoring used by manufacturers of cigarettes. …
