Your article "'Massachusetts: Land of the Pretenders" (April 19 issue) says it all. As a lifelong resident of the Bay State the land of Teddy and Barney, et al.--I am totally outraged by the actions of what passes for government here. And I am ashamed that a majority of the people of Massachusetts have allowed the present state of affairs to exist, by their continuing support, over the years, for amoral people such as the aforementioned.
Yes, this state has altogether too many pretenders, and now--when the basic issue of the sanctity of marriage is at stake--where are our leaders? Certainly not in the state house or in the "courts." THE NEW AMERICAN is one of the very few voices ...
