Last month, I saw my roommate's boyfriend in front of a hotel with a woman who was carrying an overnight bag. They kissed passionately before she got into a cab and left. Immediately afterward, I stormed up to him and confronted him. He swore that it was just his cousin, which I don't believe. To cover his ass, he told my roommate about it and explained to her that it was just family. And she bought the story! Not only that, but she was angry with me for meddling. To make matters worse, he comes over to our place almost every day and is always incredibly rude to me. What should I do?
It's common knowledge that when the news is bad, people shoot the messenger. Or in your case, they get angry at her and give her the cold shoulder. And you know what? They have a right to be peeved. You stuck your nose in something that was none of your business, something you could very well have gotten wrong. Maybe it really was his cousin.
