The new BMW M5 will surely be one of the greatest sport sedans ever, but it's still undecided if the M5's performance is enough to overcome the criticisms of iDrive and the Chris Bangle design.

The M5 is the most attractive car Bangle has produced, but I'll have to wait to hear the V10 to judge if iDrive and active steering are worth the trade-off.

Stephen Schaeffer, Dublin, Ohio

A paddle-shifted, 500-hp V10 surrounded by a four-door luxury sedan leaves me with two words: Bangle who?

Mike H. Cross, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Nothing will ever overshadow iDrive and that hideous styling. BMW needs to cease iDrive production and retrofit normal controls to all existing BMW models.

James Dean Cory, Avon, Ind.
