A WHOLE NEW F1?(Competition)(Federation Internationale de l'Automobile)
Formula One as we know it might be kaput: The FIA, the series governing body, has published controversial preliminary proposals for what amounts to a new series, for adoption in 2008. Those proposals include new technical regulations intended to reduce costs and improve the show.
The proposals will be discussed at a special meeting on May 4 in Monaco with team principals. But the FIA does not require the owners' unanimous agreement, because three years' notice has been given.
The FIA intends to get the new F1 rules ratified by the World Motor Sport Council at its meeting June 30, and publish the final regulations before Dec. 31, 2005, in time for the ...
