Poor MT Rainey must have nearly choked on her cornflakes when she perused the business pages in The Times the other week.
Patience Wheatcroft, the paper's business editor (and presumably a close friend of Chief Inspector Endeavour Morse), was venting her spleen on the conduct of WH Smith's non-executive directors.
