NEC, the Japanese electronics giant, is set to appoint cdp-travissully for the pounds 6 million task of making its name better known across Europe.
Contracts have yet to be finalised, but Peter Travis, the agency's chief executive, said: 'We are in negotiations with NEC and expect to get the business.'
Cdp-travissully, which is owned by Japan's Dentsu network, competed against the Hakuhodo subsidiary Mustoes, Proximity and WPP's Banner, NEC's incumbent shop, to win the business. It followed presentations to NEC senior European and Japanese managers in London earlier this year.
The agency's media partners will be M2M in the UK and Farrar Media for mainland Europe.
