NYSE stocks were nearly unchanged Friday in a half-day session after the Thanksgiving holiday. The Dow Jones industrials edged up 0.03%; the S&P 500 fell 0.02%. Volume was well below average.
A handful of Chinese stocks closed higher. Aluminum Corp. of China gained 3.31 to 53.51 on double its usual trade. It's within 4% of its all-time high. The No. 1 Chinese aluminum producer gets a 97 for its Earnings Per Share Rating and a 94 for Relative Price Strength. Sales growth has held up at 10% or higher the past four quarters.
Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical gapped up 2.15 to a six-year high of 32.65 on above-average volume. The Chinese petroleum products firm tops all four categories tracked by IBD's Stock Checkup in its 17-stock Chemicals-Basic group.
