The suspense is over. Lori Gaillard received the Charleston County School District Teacher of the Year Award on Thursday night - that and the keys to a new black Volvo S60.

"This is an amazing honor," she said through a wide smile after accepting a bouquet of roses on stage at the North Charleston Convention Center.
