The Barlow Endowment for Music Composition at Brigham Young University is seeking composers to compete for its Barlow Prize for an A Cappella Choral Work, an $11,000 commission, which will be premiered in 2006 by Vocal Essence, the BBC Singers and the University of Utah Singers.
The nine- to twelve-minute work is expected to meet the highest artistic requirements for the choir. The Barlow Prize is open to all applicants except those who have won the Barlow Prize in the previous two years and members of the Barlow Boards.
