Civil Aviation Authority's hi-tech image takes off

UK aviation regulator the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is changing its corporate identity for the first time in its 20-year history in an attempt to throw off an old-fashioned low-tech image.

The public authority, which has received no Government grant for the past decade, is eager to prove itself a modern commercial organisation in the face of increasing media exposure.

"The authority needs to reposition itself, to come out and say that we are much more forward-looking, hi-tech and commercially orientated," says CAA house style manager Richard Wright.
