Finesse player

They're not saying much about it, but the latest expression of Toyota global design chief Simon Humphries' "L-finesse'' look for Lexus, the LF-C, will be on display at the upcoming New York Auto Show. Lexus promises a "high-output V8'' powering its concept luxury sports coupe concept.

A-Class revealed

Mercedes-Benz, not to be outdone by German rival BMW's recent release of photos of its 1 Series hatch (AW, March 29), released this shot of its second-generation A-Class due in Europe in July. While BMW is still plotting its strategy for marketing the 1 Series in the United States, most likely as a 2 Series coupe beginning in 2006, a four-door version of the Mercedes A-Class named B-Class or CST is set to arrive on these shores by 2005 (AW, March 22).
