Nice Systems reached a three-year high Jan. 20 before starting the left side of a base. On Feb. 4 it sank 17% after the Israeli firm reported a 255% jump in fourth-quarter earnings but missed views by 3 cents. The stock's recovered since to form the bottom of the base below its 50-day trend line on low volume, a positive sign. Look for up weeks on heavy trade to offset the early February down week as the base rounds out. You'll also want to see improvement in its Relative Strength rating.
