The new Renault Scenic is presented as a family dog in the latest multimedia campaign created by Publicis, due to break on 5 April.
The TV ad, directed by Large Corp's Daniel Kleinman, targets young families and empty-nesters, who are attracted by the idea of leading a more active life. The message is that they should be out and about in their car rather than being couch potatoes.
The new commercial, which was written and art directed by Adam Kean and Alex Taylor respectively, uses the metaphor of the Scenic as a family pet, but instead of persuading its family to take it out for a walk, it wants to go for a drive.
The car assumes all the mannerisms of a dog, including sound effects of a morphed bark instead of a car horn and a wagging rear windscreen wiper 'tail'. The endline reads: 'The outdoor type.'
