As part of its on-going commitment to develop the education base for the field of human-computer interaction, SIGCHI has increased its endowment to support student grants-in-aid of research administered by Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Socity. The $400 grants-in-aid of research are awarded on a competitive basis three times a year, with priority given to applicants in the early stages of their scientific careers.

The endowment created by SIGCHI supports at least one student grant-in aid of research in each of Sigma Xi's three funding cycles. The research is restricted to the field of human-computer interaction and can focus on the design, implementation or …
