2004 APR 1 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- A proposed constitutional amendment to give Florida lawmakers the ability to write a law where doctors would notify the parents of minor girls seeking abortions advanced past its first Senate committee March 9, 2004.
The Health, Aging and Long-Term Care Committee approved the measure (CS-SJR 2178) on a 9-3 vote, advancing the proposal to the Judiciary Committee.
Similar House legislation (HJR 1) was ready for a final vote by the full chamber March 9, 2004, but was removed from the agenda and sent back to that chamber's Judiciary Committee because of questions concerning changes made last week.
