As a label with a reputation for rarely dropping acts, Parlophone does not sign many acts either, a fact which puts the spotlight on the rare additions to the EMI label's roster.
The latest arrival is Dublin singer-songwriter Cathy Davey, who is set to emerge in the next six months as a spikier alternative to the current slew of identikit female singer-songwriters.
Davey's debut album will be released in the summer, preceded by the Come Over EP on April 19 and single in June.
The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios last summer, with Blur producer Ben Hillier at the desk.
