If you are reading this preface, you are probably holding the book, and not a mouse, in your hand. But you could be holding a mouse. Having accessed the Annual Reviews home page, http://www.AnnualReviews.org, and selected the Psychology series, you would be one step closer to this preface. Of course, we don't really expect people to search the Web for this preface. Far more interesting opportunities await your cursor on our Web site. Let us mention three, and close with yet a fourth, digital advances, all part of launching the Annual Review of Psychology into the twenty-first century and making it easier for you to keep up with the field's latest trends.

Annual Reviews chapters are now available soon after they are accepted for publication as Reviews in Advance on our Web site. Simply go to the series home page (http://psych.annualreviews.org) and click on the RIA link. As the Web site notes, these are "full-length reviews published online immediately after full editing and revision ... The date of each chapter's online release is posted on our Web site and is the official date of publication. Reviews can thus appear online up to 7 months before they appear in print." This means that neither authors nor readers need wait for the rest of the volume to be assembled, printed, and shipped.

To keep you still closer to actual release dates, by registering on the Annual Reviews Web site, you can request email notification for the Annual Review of Psychology. This allows you to create a favorites list down to the article level and to customize email alerts to receive specific notifications about topics you are ...
