Since I recently changed product focus from residential side of the swimming pool business to commercial side, I have found that one area accounts for the vast majority of the technical support calls received. This is the noisy or poor performance of the pump, or pumps that were specified for a commercial pool project.
The complaints typically have to do with the pump "screaming," "howling" or not operating with a full prime. Usually, these problems are caused by some form of plumbing design or installation error, so let's look at what causes these conditions and what can be done to prevent or correct them
