To compete more fully in the commercial water business, chemical manufacturer BioLab Inc. plans to open two new dealer distribution networks for its products.
One network will focus on supplying waterparks and public pools larger than 150,000 gallons. The other is meant to supply smaller commercial pools, the Lawrenceville-Ga.-based company announced.
"We're getting very serious about the commercial water segment because of the tremendous growth opportunity," said Jim Siebert, vice president of the BioLab dealer and commercial business units.
That's because the commercial segment enjoys a much smaller set of competitors than does the residential side of the business, added Steve Carlyle, business manager of the BioLab Commercial Water Division.
"And yet the commercial market is a very big sector," he said.
