Is there a paraprofessional who is key to the success of your library? Paraprofessionals, now the largest constituency of library workers, are the backbone of libraries. In recognition of their many contributions to library service, Library Journal will honor one support staffer with its fifth annual Paraprofessional of the Year award in its March 1 issue. The deadline for nominations is January 5, 2004.

The Paraprofesssional of the Year award recognizes the essential role of paraprofessionals in providing excellent library service and places special emphasis on the efforts of the winner to further the role of paraprofessionals in the library profession. The editors …
