Now that the din has died down from the Detroit debut of Chevrolet's sixth-generation Corvette coupe, General Motors will re-stoke the fire with a drop-top version of its halo car in Geneva this coming week.
Shown here in a reader's spy photo (above), the ragtop-due in spring 2005 as an '06 model-will retain the same profile as the 2005 coupe arriving this fall. The convertible's North American debut comes at the Cleveland auto show, just days after its worldwide premier in Geneva.
From the opposite side of the world comes the Mazda MX-Flexa Concept, a six-seater that showcases a potential design direction for the Japanese manufacturer. Mazda says we should look to the flowing shape of the concept for clues to "the emotional design and innovative packaging'' of Mazda's future. The concept also suggests Mazda hopes to capture future people-carrier sales by offering high levels of interior functionality and comfort combined with superior dynamic performance. No word on production plans, however.
