The Nasdaq composite rallied to close at its intraday high Monday, gaining 1.4% and reclaiming its 50-day moving average for the first time in seven sessions. Volume was slightly lower. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 rose 1.3%.
Leaders across the board posted gains. Industrial Services of America leapt 6.89 to 42.16 on 13 times average trade, its seventh straight closing high. The waste management services provider's stock price has more than doubled the past three sessions. On Jan. 26 it set a 2-for-1 stock split for March 30. The firm's Stock Checkup Overall and Technical Ranks top its 31-stock Pollution Control-Services group.
Helen of Troy, a maker of personal care and beauty products, surged 2.64 to a new high of 31.77 on triple normal volume. Profit growth slowed the past two quarters from from 91% to 40% to 37%, but is expected to rebound with a 73% increase in the current period.
Finish Line sprinted ahead 1.54 to a new high of 36.15 on heavy trade. The athletic footwear retailer grew its sales in each of the past four quarters from 4% to 37%. But that's seen slowing down ...
