McDermott International warned it will miss Q4 estimates due to a cash crunch in its marine construction arm and a bankruptcy settlement. Shares fell 24% to 8.76.
Appliance maker Maytag stuck by its outlook of 42-47 cents a share in Q1 and $1.90-$2 a share in '04, despite rising steel prices. It said it will cut expenses to offset higher metal costs. Analysts expect Q1 EPS of 52 cents a share ex items and '04 EPS of $2.32. Shares rose 2%.
