2004 MAR 3 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Iowa Senator Ken Veenstra, R-Orange City, said he'll propose a bill that would ban the use of a mercury-based preservative used in some childhood vaccines.

Veenstra, chairman of the Senate Human Resources Committee, said February 9, 2004, he is concerned about possible links between the chemical, called thimerosal, and disorders such as autism.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, the Institutes of Medicine have reviewed all studies of thimerosal and concluded there is not enough evidence to determine whether or not neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and ...
