Peter Waterman's talent-spotting energies never switch oft, or so it seems following his "discovery" of two classical violinists busking in a Manchester shopping mall. The Pop Idol jurist was sufficiently impressed by Gregg Scott and Craig Owen, then students at Royal Northern College of Music, to take them trader his wing.

"I thought, what an interesting idea: two classical violinists" he says. "I was looking for something new that I could do something different with. When I met the boys I thought, 'Wow, I've got a fantastic idea here"
