Suarez gets full scholarship to Erskine.
Erskine College has announced that Virginia Ruth Suarez of Mount Pleasant has been selected as a winner of a 2004 E.B. Kennedy Scholarship, a full scholarship covering tuition, room, board and fees. The value of the scholarship exceeds $90,000.
Suarez, daughter of Arturo and Ann McCarley Suarez of Mount Pleasant, is a senior at Porter-Gaud School and a member of Scots Kirk Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Summerville. She has participated in the YMCA Youth in Government Model Legislature for four years and was one of 25 S.C. delegates to the YMCA Youth in Government Conference on National Affairs.
