2004 FEB 11 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- An infant developed Kawasaki disease after hepatitis B vaccination.
"The known association between hepatitis B and vasculitis has been reported in rare cases in adults after hepatitis B vaccination. We here describe a 35-day-old infant who developed Kawasaki disease one day after receiving his second dose of hepatitis B vaccine," researchers in Israel and the United States report.
"Although extremely rare, this possible side effect should be noted and further investigated," wrote Dan Miron and collaborators at the Cleveland Clinic in the United States and Technion Medical School in Israel.
