U.S. human papillomavirus (HPV)test provider Digene (Gaithersburg, Maryland) said last week that the French Ministry of Health has approved reimbursement of testing for high-risk types of HPV in the follow-up evaluation of women with borderline Pap test results.
Digene, whose HPV test was the first to receive regulatory approval, said the ministry also indicated that it would study use of the HPV test for routine, primary screening for cervical cancer, in conjunction with the Pap test.
