True to his word, UNLV football coach John Robinson pursued junior college players who would sign early.

The Rebels signed seven junior college players in December, all of whom are in school and will participate when spring practices begin March 7.

"The junior college guy who comes in the fall doesn't help you unless he's a star," Robinson said Wednesday after announcing his recruiting class. "But bringing a guy in here now and having him ready for spring practice, most of them will be ready to play."

Those early signees were part of a Rebels recruiting class comprising 12 freshmen and 11 junior college players.
