The interior is upscale and handsome. The mirror and fuel door switches could be better placed, but everything else inside is near perfect. I'm satisfied with the standard sound system, and the a/c works well in the hot and humid South Carolina sun. The rich-looking soft vinyl trim on the dash, console and door panels, while pleasant to sight and touch, seems to scratch easily.

I chose the RX for its styling, fuel mileage, and the impressive dealer service my wife has had with her Lexus. I wanted to buy American but the lack of customer service at Cadillac was enough to sway my decision. The Lexus also makes me feel good about the environment, as it is a certified ULEV.

The RX 330 is more stable, quiet and smoother-riding than the old model. It is easy for people our age to enter and exit. My only complaint is the programming of the transmission, which sometimes hunts for the proper gear and doesn't kick down quickly enough.
