Anti-fat drug tied to cancer risk

Vanderbilt University researchers said that the GlaxoSmithKline experimental compound GW501516, designed to fight obesity and lower cholesterol levels, was found to increase the risk of developing colon cancer. However, Vanderbilt's tests were done on mice prone to develop cancer, and the drug firm says it has observed no such a link.
