Travelers plans S.A. withdrawal

Travelers Health Network of Texas Inc. has applied with the State Board of Insurance to consolidate its San Antonio and Austin offices in the capital city, saying the move would improve the efficiency of the managed health care company's Central and South Texas operations.

The Travelers health maintenance organization (HMO) now has 15 employees in its San Antonio office and 30 in Austin. The Austin location would grow by several employees, leaving provider relations representatives and the medical director for the plan in San Antonio, says Rosanne Hennessey, a spokesperson at Travelers' Hartford, Conn., corporate offices. …
