When the renovated Drayton Hall Middle School opens as Drayton Hall Elementary School in August, parents could find the entire structure of schools in West Ashley has changed.

During the next two weeks, the district will hold meetings to see what grades should go in either elementary or middle schools. There are three plans in the works for parental comment.

One plan proposes changing the middle school system, while the others would only affect the elementary schools. Those who would be affected, most notably Springfield Elementary, have reservations about what restructuring would mean for their students.
