Apple announces G5 innovations.(video)(Brief Article)
Apple Computer has introduced several of its latest product releases, including the new Power Mac G5 and G5-optimized versions of its Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, and Shake.
Apple has amended its Power Mac family with a new dual-processor, 1.8GHZ desktop system. Starting at $2499, the new Power Mac G5 features dual 1.8GHZ, 64-bit PowerPC G5 processors, each with independent 900MHZ front-side buses. The system also boasts a 160GB Serial ATA 7200 RPM hard drive, a 4X DVD-R/CD-RW SuperDrive, an AGP 8X Pro graphics slot, an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra with 64MB of DDR SDRAM, and Mac OS X Version 10.3, known as Panther.
At the same time, Apple has released new versions of its Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, and Shake applications that have been optimized specifically for the Power Mac G5 and Panther operating system. Current users can upgrade free to Final ...
