When Richard Wooley set out to design Land Rover's first concept vehicle for public consumption-the Range Stormer that made its debut in Detroit as a precursor to a sporty fourth model line for the venerable Ford-owned British sport/ute builder- he knew that his cues must come from the top-of-the-line Range Rover:
* Unassailable 4x4 capability. Check.
* Luxury car appointments. Check.
* Touring car styling. Check.
* Wagon functionality. Check.
* Sporty image. Um, not so fast.
