MORRISON: Slap my face and call me Rosemeyer! Now that's torque: 65 more lb-ft than the Viper and only 7 fewer hp? Pshhew, that's outrageous. But it had better be, given the price. Any SL is a darn good car, but $130,000 to start? Mercedes must be insane. Yes, the 600 is fast, but it certainly doesn't feel like Viper velocity-4400 pounds will do that to a (two-seat!) car. I won't go so far as to say I was unfortunate to drive this over the cold, slushy Thanksgiving weekend (nice problem to have), but the conditions were far from ideal. Even when the road was dry, the cold temperature and salty roads caused the rear end to lose loads of traction every time I tried to seriously boot it. You ...
