Six join battle for Daihatsu UK 2m [pounds]

Daihatsu, the Japanese car manufacturer, is reviewing its 2 million [pounds] UK account held for the past ten years by GGK.

The company has invited the Banks Partnership, Laing Henry Hill Holliday, Reay Keating Hamer, Miller and Leeves WAHT and Simons Palmer Denton Clemmow and Johnson to pitch against the incumbent. The move follows the arrival of Daihatsu's new marketing director, Paul Tunnicliffe, from Alfa Romeo in March.

Both Alfa Romeo and Daihatsu were subsidiaries of the franchise holder, Tozer Kemsley and Millbourn, until Alfa UK was sold back to the Fiat-owned Italian parent company in April 1990. …
