Zanardi is in
Alex Zanardi has confirmed he will run in the European Touring Car Championship this season. The two-time Champ Car title winner, who lost both legs in a crash while competing in a CART race at the Eurospeedway Lausitz in September 2001, will race a BMW 320i for Roberto Ravaglia's BMW Italia team. Zanardi, who made his racing comeback with a one-off drive in the ETCC in October, said, "This hasn't been easy because there wasn't a plan for this, and it was practically born after my return at Monza.
"It has been done in a short space of time and a third car [at Ravaglia Motorsport] has been found for me.''
Biela to Le Mans
Three-time Le Mans winner Frank Biela will return to the French endurance classic with the Audi Sport UK/Veloqx team this year. The 39-year-old German, who will race full-time with Audi in the DTM touring car series, will also drive the car in the Sebring 12 Hour. Biela will share the LMP car with fellow Audi works contractees Pierre Kaffer and Jamie Davies, who moves over from the Veloqx Ferrari team.
PTG moves to Grand-Am
