When you're a company like Hot Rods & Horsepower, which lives off building steel bodies for street rodders, creative minds are bound to wonder: "What if we built our own car?''
That was the root of a decision to build a roadster and a partnership with Michigan-based specialty vehicle developer ASC Inc. By the middle of last summer a prototype was completed, and back from the automotive cemetery returned the 1932 Ford "Deuce.'' Named for its historic precursor, the Dearborn Deuce Convertible is like a cryogenically frozen specimen that has been revived some 70 years later to reap the benefits of modern technology. Of course it's a replica, though we don't foresee many enthusiasts complaining about this hot rod icon getting another chance to ramble the back roads or show off between stoplights.
The Deuce looks the same as its forebear with its in-your-face grille and exposed wheels, but you can forget about planning your trips with one eye on ...
