1 This year, forget New Year's resolutions that are easy -- swearing off broccoli or avoiding the DVD version of "Gigli."
Try tackling high-payoff goals geared to efficiency and career bang for the buck.
Consider these suggestions from executive coach and entrepreneur Bill Treasurer.
** Create your own breakthrough. What could you do -- with your talent, experience and contacts -- to add punch to your resume? The breakthrough could be a new job, an added role or a move to another industry.
** Write a new job description. To broaden your job's boundaries or take on a new role at work, "create a day-in-the-life scenario you'd like to be a part of six months from now," Treasurer advised.
Write a proposal detailing the tasks and the results they'd bring. When presenting it to your boss, sell the outcome: "Here are some ways I can add more value to the company."
