First and 10: Milwaukee group vies for Arena Football franchise
It's not really football, and it may be coming to an arena near you.
The Arena Football League -- indoor football that has been called a hybrid of basketball, hockey, indoor soccer and volleyball -- is weighing a franchise bid from a Milwaukee investor whose group ultimately may include retired and active professional athletes who live in Wisconsin.
The investor, Keith Majors, a self-described sports equipment broker, may know by the end of August whether he will get a franchise in time for the 1992 season.
Majors, 27, is an ex-University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Northwestern University football player who is on probation for felony theft in Texas and one felony and six misdemeanor counts in Portage County. Majors …
