La Quinta, city score big with $3M ballpark

In an effort to further enhance San Antonio's status as an amateur softball mecca, the city and a private enterprise that includes La Quinta Motor Inns Inc. and local ad man Chuck Anderson is building a new softball park on Wetmore Road, the Business Journal has learned.

While this is not the first time the city has struck a partnership with the private sector, the new $3 million park is the largest such joint effort to date. It will be called La Quinta Park.
