RTD & LACTC Celebrate First Year Of Blue Line Operation

RTD, LACTC and elected officials cut a ceremonial cake while mementoes were distributed to Metro Blue Line patrons July 15 to commemorate the completion of one year of service on the 22 mile rail system linking downtown Los Angeles and downtown Long Beach.

"The success of the Blue Line can be summed up in two words: customer satisfaction," said Marvin Holen, RTD Board President. "Some 8.5 million boarding passengers have used the service in the past 12 months, and thousands have made the rail system part of their daily lives."
