A South Valley family has sealed the deal to sell its farm to Wal-Mart, which plans to turn the land into store No. 9 in Albuquerque.

Albuquerque Realtor John Mahoney of J.J. Mahoney and Associates on Monday said the Wenk family sold the 20-acre plot to the discount giant Dec. 8.

Mahoney declined to offer any details on construction of the store. Wal-Mart officials could not be reached for comment Monday but have said plans for the 203,000-square-foot supercenter include hiring about 475 employees.
