Based on our tests, it's hard to choose a bad wall oven; nearly all performed a variety of cooking tasks at least adequately. The best models for most, with capable cooking at a relatively low price, are the GE JTP20WF at $850 and the Frigidaire Gallery GLEB30S8C at $700. The GE lacks a convection mode, but delivers as much space and performs nearly as well as the Thermador SC301T, $1,700, for less. The Frigidaire excelled at baking, but its small capacity could be a problem if you have a large family or entertain often. If you broil lots of steak, the Thermador is a good bet.
In performance order.
