2004 JAN 7 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded Seattle Biomedical Research Institute a $10 million grant to continue its research in developing a vaccine to prevent malaria in pregnant women.
The grant, which was announced December 17, 2003, supports the institute's malaria-antigen discovery program. Initial testing for the program is done at the Institute's labs in Seattle, Washington, and at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France.
